Shoplifting arrest leads to additional chargesBack to video
Kingston Police were called to a business in the area of Princess and Barrie streets around 4:30 p.m. after an individual tried to leave the store with merchandise without paying for it. After being arrested, police discovered that the individual had breached a number of court-imposed conditions as well.

A search of the accused led to the discovery of a folding flick knife, which is a prohibited weapon.
The 33-year-old is now facing charges of theft under $5,000, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, three counts of possession of a weapon while prohibited, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, and two counts of breach of probation.
The accused was sent to police headquarters to await and attend a bail hearing.
